Cycle Mapping

For certain women, assessing reproductive hormones like progesterone and oestrogen on a single day suffices. However, in cases where a comprehensive understanding of hormonal patterns throughout the menstrual cycle is crucial, a more extensive "mapping" approach is necessary. Typically, hormonal patterns follow an expected trajectory, with oestrogen levels starting low, surging during ovulation, and tapering off in the latter phase of the cycle (the luteal phase). Progesterone levels remain low until after ovulation, then ideally skyrocket (>10-fold) before declining towards the cycle's end. Any disruption in this cyclical pattern can lead to fertility issues or hormonal imbalances.
